‘Father, Son and Holy Spirit’

by Frans Blokhuis

What happens when a pastor's son comes out of the closet? In this rehearsed reading of a work-in-progress, Frans, who grew up as a pastor's son in a Dutch reformed family, rewrites stories from the Bible from a queer perspective and combines them with autobiographical anecdotes. While Christian conservatism often uses biblical stories to support backwards norms around gender, sexuality, and family, Frans actually finds themes of liberation and healing in these very same stories. He takes you on a surprising, theological journey from Abraham to Joseph.
